A much-maligned subject that always comes up at the end of the year is that of resolutions for the New Year. Personally I think that the beginning of a new year is an excellent time to take stock of yourself and determine areas that need improvement.
I think the reason New Year's Resolutions have attained such a negative connotation is because so few are actually kept. Ah yes, the crux of the whole matter. What good is it to make a resolution if you do not follow though?

The first couple of article that we did in our series "Basics of Training" deal with establishing a realistic goal and developing a plan for achieving that goal. The principles discussed in these articles are timeless and just might help you to accomplish this year's New Year's Resolution.
